February 2024 β Gender Critical Greens
Mm it's hard to find evidence for it but was tipped off by a fellow Green... it's Anne Baker, who was / is Treasurer for the 'Gender Gritical Greens', gcgreens.uk/2024/02/, but I really don't know. It's a big issue for me, human rights an' all, but I want a good Green cohort regardless.

actually just considering voting green anyway and writing regular sternly worded emails to her if elected saying βnow donβt you ruin this, the second you belittle trans people on then record Iβll be holding a protest outside your officeβ

Itβs the first election I really have no idea how Iβm going to vote. I love my plaid candidate but arenβt keen on their overall enviro policies (as you know). The Labour candidate isβ¦. Meh. WHAT TO DO
23.01.2026 07:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Yes we wonβt actually have any FPTP this time, which was the point Eben was originally making, so itβs designed for a more proportional Senedd. Every party needs to try harder for seats in a way, esp the previously dominant ones. And majority governments are not actually common in Wales already.

Asking for a friend (i.e. me) - what do you do if you want tovote Green but have been reliably informed that the top candidate for your area (expected to get her seat with current polls) is a closet TERF, who has managed to stay in the party by getting quieter on it lately..?

lol. latest polling* says Reform will get 23 ish seats and for a majority you need 49. Plus they're not known for making friends so v much doubt anyone will work with them in a coalition. Even if Conservatives do, the maths does not work.
*Labour - 10, Plaid - 44, Cons - 7, Reform - 23, Greens - 11

What happened to the UK after Brexit? A short piece of fiction predicting an alternative future, where UKIP get into power in 2030β¦
Itβs the happiest time of the year for fans of Guy Fawkes! And the only day I donβt feel shameless for plugging my brexity short story, speculating on what might happen by 2030 if someone got the idea to do an encoreβ¦

That to go to the Bay from Central, you have to go via Queen Street and take two different trains (which takes about the same amount of time to walk it) is one of my biggest bugbears. Is it structurally impossible to have trains go from Central to the Bay?!

First of all, 5mm isn't microscopic and you CAN see them.
Second of all, the fact that our Chancellor thinks she can't see these seems to mean she thinks they're not worthy of our consideration.
A hallmark of this government's terminal lack of imagination.

Love Father Ted and find Black Books also stands up to time as just brilliant in my eyes, but I think much because of the cast too.
Too may writers make brilliant stuff but arenβt quite sound of mind and character in reality or as they age. I feel similarly about Joss Whedon and Morrissey.

And creators, @11bitstudios.bsky.social, are here too! So a direct βthank you for restoring my faith in gamingβ to you guys, Iβve enjoyed it so much.
Also try This War of Mine, another I canβt get enough of! More resource, less zapping floaty spheres (spoiler for alters) but again, story is king.

Just a PSA for gamers, The Alters is one of the best Iβve played in a long time and I recommend it to everyone who likes story in their gaming.

Yeah, I thought this was a bit of an odd one to write upβ¦ as though it was taking a long + slightly contrived way round to just criticise the reforms. Surely anyone sensible, even not knowing much about the bill, would assume there was a commencement clause at a reasonably close date π€·π»ββοΈ

On a serious note, there are sometimes flaws in siting (sometimes proposed on a high value nature site, that is in terms of actual biodiversity, not a nice looking landscape) and there can be improvements. But most objecting to their existence on principle?! Bizarre. They are lovely.
