They aren’t everywhere yet, but EV-focused independent shops do exist and are expanding! Electrified Garage in MA/FL, Wattworks in OR, there’s a bunch in CA, etc. There are companies building aftermarket components too to keep older EVs on the road.

The 2026 Nissan Leaf Has One Weird Charging Compromise The new Nissan Leaf has two charging ports, including a Tesla Supercharger plug. But you may still need an adapter for various things.

I’m not sure that it’s going to have a CCS-compatible port. It looks to be an AC-only J1772 and a DC-only J3400 (NACS) insideevs.com/news/762582/...

A piece of career advice I give people I mentor is to go where you are valued. It means it’s important to be in a role where you are respected, recognized and rewarded.

Sometimes despite tenure, it’s better to leave and accelerate your career trajectory versus staying where you’ve been written off.

Saying "coding is dead" is missing the point. Coding isn’t just about producing code, it’s also a way of thinking.

It teaches us structure, systems thinking, abstractions and problem decomposition.

If you don’t learn those skills, AI won’t make you productive, it’ll make you dependent.

I can see how that’s a tougher spot. I’m at 38k on my 2021 Model 3 and we’ve been wanting a larger vehicle. Rivian actually gave me a much higher trade offer than I expected so it wasn’t an unreasonable move, but certainly not a “good” financial decision 😅

I was considering a laptop upgrade but I also ordered a new vehicle this week before tariffs drive car prices up (and before my Tesla loses all of its trade-in value) so I probably shouldn’t spend any more right now 🫣

Yup. The US Digital Service was formed from Big Tech SREs. Top level SREs really are elite level problem solvers and trouble makers of the highest order.

Many are trans, queer, or at the very least, care about LGBTQIA people, and will end you if you talk disrespectfully about them.

I’m a big fan of my Pro 2’s! I tried the AirPod 4’s with ANC and they were good, but the Pro 2’s are a tier above in terms of sound quality and ANC. Caveat here being that I’m fortunate to have ears that the Pro’s fit into well.

Let the NTSB do its job.

Heads up for anyone else who might panic about a whole bunch of AWS API calls triggering in different regions for services you don't use - check to see if it's just Resource Explorer doing its thing before letting your heart rate get too high.

The receiver end of a C14 to C13 extension that was cut and reattached to an aftermarket connector. This was almost certainly done by hand because the strain relief isn’t fully engaged, and if they were built by machine it would be a fully molded part.

I’m rehabbing my old @steampowered.com hardware beta machine and I’m in awe at every step. Hat tip to the folks at @valvesoftware.com who hand-built C14-C13 extensions to perfectly fit this custom case. There are so many little thoughtful touches in here that were hidden from all but 300 of us.

Because of a silly bug that they haven’t fixed since 18.0 🙃 Disabling Apple Intelligence altogether fixed it for me, but that delay was brutal until I figured that out especially for MFA notifications.

We’ve already had it on CDG and AMS, but I’m stoked to see more of it for these routes. As much as I’ll avgeek over the 767, the neo is a far nicer ride as a passenger.

Reliability, constant work, and a good cup of coffee Simplifying systems to deliver stability by avoiding scaling during times of stress.

I keep coming back to aws.amazon.com/builders-lib.... @colmmacc.bsky.social is incredibly good at explaining complex subjects in a way that's not only easy to follow but (crucially) memorable. Whenever I think about constant work, my mind immediately starts at the coffee urn analogy.
