Doctors tested a common drug on COVID. The results are stunning A cheap, inhaled drug may revolutionize treatment for COVID-19 and other deadly lung infections. Date: September 28, 2025 Source: King's College London Summary: Inhaled heparin significantly lowers the risk of death and ventilation in COVID-19 patients while also showing potential against other respiratory infections. With its unique triple-action benefits, it could serve as a powerful and accessible treatment worldwide.
A new international study led by the Australian National University and Kingโs College London found inhaled heparin, a cheap and widely available drug, halved the need for ventilation and lowered death risk in nearly 500 hospitalized COVID patients across 6 countries.

This is a box crab ๐ฆ๐ฆ, likely Calappa calappa (from a Malay word meaning "coconut").
They're also called 'shame-faced crabs' because they pull their massive claws (chelae) in front of their face when alarmed.
Why are they squirting? This is a way of moving water over their gills to keep them wet.
What Brett Sutton is saying now is nothing new. He was one of the few CHOs who openly stated that #COVIDisAirborne even in the early crisis years of the pandemic. This is an official Victorian Dept of Health video from 21 Dec, 2021.

These little beauties are often very tricky to photograph but managed a few of this in the garden recently: good enough to get it IDed on FB BWARS site as Pseudomalus triangulifer. Apparently only recently recognised as a UK sp. so I've no idea how common it is.

Just in case there aren't enough photos of this lovely bird here's my Wryneck photo. Just happened to be walking past Turf Lock, didn't know it was still here - so not really twitching is it?
First I've ever photographed so happy it stayed on and behaved so well.

Pseudoscience is easy. You make it up, add some fear, and watch ignorant people spread it."

Want to learn something about #water and #climate change?
A simple approximation is that for every degree C of warming, the atmosphere holds 7% more water. That's one factor behind the growing number of extreme flooding events.
Five years ago, a very close relative died of a glioblastoma brain tumor at the age of 13. Today would have been his 19th birthday. And now comes news that an mRNA vaccine is being trialed to treat this very (incurable) malady. Fingers crossed.
