I'll be trying to turn an idea in my brain into a plan on paper whilst battling a hybrid working schedule.
Hopefully, we'll both have a good week π

For writing, I've been using Scrivener for years and highly recommend it to anyone. (It's also great for GM's prepping TTRPGs!)
For ideas, I word vomit into whatever notes app is on my phone, but I'm looking for something more useful.
So I spent all of yesterday evening exploring the idea, getting into the groove, only to discover this morning that a book with the exact same premise already exists π
Let's take another look at the ideas folder, shall we?

So after several long days of trying to figure out which idea to pursue, all it took was one question:
"Which one excites you?"

One of the things I've noticed after 5 years away from writing is the shift in my personal style.
All my drafts are YA, but now I am reimagining them with an older cast, grounded more in the real and with more relatable wants and needs.
It's refreshing, but a little scary.

What is it about an idea that makes it appealing to you?
What is it that makes you want to embrace it, to fall deep within it, to explore all it has to offer?

βWriterβs blockβ or just fear of imperfection? Sometimes itβs not that you donβt know what to write -- itβs that youβre afraid it wonβt be good enough. Write anyway. You canβt edit a blank page.
Whatβs your go-to trick for breaking through creative paralysis? π

Could it be the language or style? I often find that it takes me longer to read something if the style is particularly cumbersome as my brain is trying to edit it as I go.

Loophole for me.
26.10.2025 21:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Saw something on #booksky about what's on my TBR list, and it's been so long since I've been involved in the literary world that I've completely forgotten what was on it!
Guess I'll start afresh π
I have seen this around and will be taking part once I've figured out what's salvageable from my old drafts!

I'm looking to change that now, and build a network here with other writers π
Any tips on where to start?

#Writetip: Reading is supposed to be a pleasure. Writing might nearly kill you, but the end product is something to be enjoyed. To escape into. Remember that when youβre fighting with your novel and remind yourself that all the hard work will be worth it.
