A book doesn’t need a “serious message” to be worthwhile. Joy is a legitimate end in itself.

This is SO helpful if you want to keep track of how your characters change their POV through a timeline of events.

I sat down to work on my Mermaid novel and ended up creating part of a new novel with its roots coming from Fox Hunting.

Being able to know how to plan properly xD

I know there are all sorts of ways to write a novel, my go-to seems to be literally burting it all out and editing later to make sense (letting the characters drive you)...but it'd be nice to know the destination and some of the journey 😂

Don't you love sitting down to carry on with your story, only to then create a new story in your head that is completely different than the one you are working on? I swear I'm working on at least 5 different novels at once right now 👀

Researching for a novel is a task and a half. I love it, but gosh darn is it like getting blood from a stone sometimes xD

As much as I love my Cornish heritage...trying to find out more information on certain things is almost impossible due to so many centuries of stories being told orally instead of it being written down. I am so thankful for the Celtic overlap, but I know that not all of it is shared in each area.

Starting this morning off with some research into bioluminescence to make sure the setting for part of my novel sounds somewhat plausible... How are you spending your morning? 🥰

Took a heck of a writing and reading hiatus.
I feel amped up to start again now, though I'm not sure what made me lose my mojo in the first place.

I want to post my stories, but I fear that Wattpad is just known for smut. (not saying smut is a bad thing, I love reading smut, but not all of my stories include it!)

Are there sites like wattpad that wont have readers disappointed when there isn't any smut involved?

I've tried re-educating myself several times so I can work, earn and truly live with my chronic illness. Each time, my chronic illness renders me unable to do anything.

I genuinely feel helpless.

I didn't draw today. My journey wont be something that I 'aim to finish within so many days' but more of an accumulative drive to see progress over time.

Plus...it was far to hot to even consider doing anything productive today xD

The line work here is awesome! I can imagine this would work super well with some watercolour if you ever wanted to add colour to the piece. (Though, it is perfect without too!)

Day 3: Did a little more of the 'mushroom' before realising that I wasn't using a reference and should have been using one...SO
tomorrow I finish doing day 3's bit with a simple object and light reference. I feel like this is something I will be doing a lot of!

End of Day 2: Mostly spent trying to draw 3d shapes and began looking at light & shadow...No 'real' drawing done, just shapes shapes shapes!

I'm so glad to hear you were able to find a creative outlet despite restrictions due to health. It can be so disheartening to give up hobbies, even if only temporary.
Also, I love the idea of reading by waterfronts, the sound is so calming <3
