It‘d be inaccurate to say they make the output better, because it is still ultimately a probability model, but it will more aesthetically resemble art which is itself perceived as better by the tagger.

They do that because the training data is tagged (either by the source being scraped, which is usually some booru somewhere, or by the people assembling the training dataset) with various keywords. Using those tags weights the output in favor of the training data which was also tagged in that way.

Given what the story is about, there are elements I feel are pretty problematic, but it’s still really well-put together. Going straight from that to a more modern blockbuster-style action-drama movie made me so aware of how vacuous and disjointed a lot of post-millennium movies are.

I watched Last of the Mohicans (‘92) the other day after probably 20ish years, and it’s honestly a really remarkable film despite being fairly unremarkable in flashiness and scale/scope. It’s pure drama, has a very tight plot structure, it’s well-acted, has a great OST, and is incredibly well-shot.

Iirc in ZZ they were explained to be farms.

The Samsung smart fridge ad thing is goofy but we’ve known this is the end goal for “IOT” products for 20 years. That and rent-seeking via subscription services. What really baffles me is who the hell is even buying IOT products anymore. It’s been a functionally dead trend since like 2015.

The idea that people just… have a dozen or more active streaming subscriptions going at a given time baffles me. That cost adds up quick. And it’s so long-term inefficient for something which most people will only consume like .001% of the content of.

Honestly it’s kind of wacky to find out how subscription-pilled seemingly everyone else is these days. When I do, on a rare occasion, require something that is subscription-walled and I have absolutely no other recourse, I will pay for as minimal a timeframe as I can, and then just let it go.

Personally I think they should give the people what they REALLY want: a film adaptation of G-Saviour (PS2). It’s the perfect length for a movie and already has a full English script. Be sure to just call it G-Saviour just to confuse the shit out of everyone, too.

You’ll either think it‘s as bad as the original if you don’t like 08th MST, or you’ll think it’s an inferior version of the same thing, because it’ll have to cut out a lot. Doomed to failure regardless.

I have reason to doubt this, namely that it doesn’t really track with the vibe/imagery of the teaser released earlier this year, but if it’s true then it strikes me as a very strange choice to adapt because the only possible outcome is that it gets panned, regardless of if you like 08th MST or not.

I’m honestly about ready to call it quits with social media as a concept. I’ll probably set up a new account at some point that’s laser focused on art promotion, but I want to get back to the days when I had no real internet presence and my default boredom response was anything besides scrolling.
