I think the worst piece of writing advice out there is that you should assume your first draft will always be bad. It will rarely be perfect but sometimes you can get 80% - 90% there on the first go around.

It is also quite a bit longer than “Magica Riot” is. Some of this is that the action scenes are big and elaborate even beyond the first book, sure, but the majority of the extra length is character work. Hanging out with the girls and getting to know them even better. 🥹

Empathy, kindness, joy, heart. That’s what I always want to be centered in the Magica Riot books. You will be getting even bigger doses of those in “Magica Riot: Full Bloom.”
