Australia's native wildlife and AMR
If you have any doubts that a true One Health response to AMR is needed, then consider how the phenomenon is already showing up in Australiaβs native fauna.
#AMR isnβt just a human health issueβitβs impacting Aussie wildlife too. π¨π¦

Phage therapy holds promise for combating AMR
As antimicrobial resistance (AMR) increases, phage therapy offers promise not only as a treatment for antibiotic-resistant infections, but also as a potential alternative to antibiotics themselves.
As #AMR continues to rise, the search for effective solutions has never been more urgent. One promising approach is #phage therapyβa treatment that harnesses the power of bacteria's natural predators:

Superbugs thrive as access to antibiotics fails in India
Antibiotics are overused by some and out of reach for others - fuelling resistance and leaving deadly gaps in care.
"The irony is cruel. While the world tries to curb antibiotic overuse, a parallel tragedy plays out quietly in poorer nations: people dying from treatable infections because the right drugs are out of reach."
