2 vertical black frames filled with green tentacles rimmed in red. This was done in gouache with only yellow, red, green, and black paint. It took me several days but I don't care cause I haven't painted by hand in almost 10 months. This was incredibly satisfying.

Was gonna do a mermaid but I thought it'd be too cliche, so I went with a sailor holding an elaborate candle holder I saw looking for ideas that was originally an angel made out of metal.

I wanted both pieces to have a candle but I wanted them to look different, so I went with a little lantern cage. It also needed something else in the background so I added this spiky looking fish that was what some folks historically thought the kraken looked like. Search it up, he's kinda cute.

My work injury has recovered enough that I tried painting by hand for the first time in 9 months! (been most sticking to digital since I can crank the pressure sensitivity)

Asked my sibs for some prompts. They gave me colourful high contrast, kraken, and candle, with traffic lights as the palette.
