Modesty is a concept rooted in patriarchy, misogyny and purity culture. Every time the topic arises the burden always falls on women which is very telling. A woman will be blamed for causing a man to lust but a man won't be blamed for his actions or for being in that environment.

The obvious line on the shutdown for Dems is "If they're going to keep the 60 vote requirement, they need to write a bill that 7 Dem's are willing to put their name on. Either they care about gathering the consensus that the 60 vote threshold requires or they don't."

Dems had better figure out their messaging and be out there yelling and screaming the truth…Dems must control the narrative, which is going to take a lot more than what seems to currently be out there as the fight is unfair (but not un-winnable)

Because the blame is being placed inaccurately - refusal by the GOP to negotiate is not governing - thus, blame lies on them, not on the Dems for not capitulating to the madness - ideally the Dems don’t want a gov’t shutdown, but they are seemingly finally holding firm on at least 1 demand
