It's not a 'small technical shift', it's a horrific and inhumane change of policy.
And bluntly, we all know the Home Office's version of 'safe' is highly likely to be wrong.

I have not tried it yet in London or Paris but I saw shops selling it, getting popular now but it wonโt be the same!

Well said - I for one am glad you are here.
How ironic that Mahmood, herself, wouldnโt be here if those rules had applied when her parents came here.
I am proof... living, breathing proof... of what happens when a country offers refuge with a future attached.
Britain gave me a chance, and I have spent my life giving back.

Italy has a flat tax of 200k euros to attract billionaires.
Italy has seen a surge in the last few years.
Why donโt we call these people with their correct name? They are economic immigrants looking for better opportunities and flying oppression like refugees do!
This quote immediately reminded me of a line from Animal Farm:
"Surely Comrades, you do not want Jones Back!"
Which then made me think...
"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which."

14.11.2025 07:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Was "being increasingly nasty to immigrants and asylum seekers" in the Labour 2024 manifesto? I am asking because they don't seem to have any problems with it, unlike with increasing income tax. Probably because a lot of immigrants can't vote, so the government is fine not treating them as people.
14.11.2025 06:57 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So today we went to visit the train market and the floating market.
I visited the floating market 10 years ago. The train market wasnโt a thing at that time.
All there was left of the original floating market 10 years ago is now gone. The canals are overcrowded. Only souvenirs and food stalls.
The only progress that makes sense is to renegotiate our entry into the CU and SM. Anything else is just pissing on a forest fire.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

The small, dark box at the bottom is the total volume of highly radioactive waste from nuclear in the entire world. And a lot of this can be recycled into new fuels. Its volume is tiny compared to waste from mining rare earths for renewables.
I would highly recommend Going Nuclear by Tim Gregory.
