New work from our lab investigating the relationship between repetition suppression, repetition priming and increases in oscillatory power in simultaneous fMRI-EEG. Induced power increases are strongly associated with priming magnitude, supporting a mix of the synchrony and facilitation models.

A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

Trump Administration Cancels $400 Million in Federal Funds to Columbia University
The Trump administration blamed the universityβs failure to protect Jewish students from harassment during protests last year over the war in Gaza.
This is a vile move. All the more disgusting and infuriating that itβs being framed about βprotectingβ Jewish students. You know whatβs actually anti-Semitic? using Jews as pawns in this disgusting fascist theatre. Donβt take the bait and let it divide us. π‘

One of the NIMH PIs whose name is the termination list: Sooyhun Lee, whose lab just published this beautiful @nature.com paper (that has received too little press because comms at NIH are down). Read! Cite!

#NIH #science
This is science from my group in the NIH intramural program, which aims to understand what goes wrong in cognitive syndromes like dementia and schizophrenia. These diseases probably affect neural computations. Thatβs why weβre doing this science: to figure that out.

This is a travesty. The students who participated in the NIH SIP program were all incredible scholars and those that I had the privilege of working with are now entrepreneurs, physicians, and engineers.

Thing is, it's not just a big cut - it's a cut that hits the framework in which research happens. It's like taking away half the shoes in your closet, only it's *all* the left shoes in every pair. Are we supposed to hop on one foot?
