I agree. I find that writing pitches help me find the essence or the true story within the story. And if I struggle, it means I don’t have the story well thought out.

Please ensure that the law is upheld - not a given these days!

I said goodbye to my sweet cat today and came home to a rejection from an editor. I’ve had better days. Still - life goes on. Dusting myself off. Tomorrow is another day.

Homeseeking by Karissa Chen was fantastic!

Tried to leave a book review on Amazon (I’m an ARC reader for the book), but it wouldn’t let me because I haven’t spent enough money on Amazon this year! So obnoxious!!

Loved this. And the illustrations were fabulous.

Here’s one of the books I loved this summer.

My critique group started meeting in person again, and it’s way more motivating. And the conversations flow better. Personal connection is so important.

Yes! Sometimes small bits of writing feel like an accomplishment and can inspire other writing. And switching up what you write also helps.

I can relate to this. I feel like I’ve hit a plateau. Like I’m hitting the ball over the net, but just missing the sweet spot.
I’m trying to think outside the lines and push myself creatively - hoping to get more satisfied with my manuscripts.

Thank you! It was an informative and engaging presentation. I got a lot out of it.

Great panel discussion

It was such an informative talk. I’m in the query trenches now, and she gave a clearer picture of what to expect (should I be so fortunate) if/when I get an agent.

Wonderful panel discussion. Loved the reframing: it’s not book banning, it’s restricting access to information. Thinking about the impact and harm to children, libraries, creators, etc; how to band together to fight back.
So much to think about - and do! Thanks to all who put this together.
