I tried Conductor 6 months ago and it was fine but didn’t hook me. I picked it up again a month ago and it’s all I use.

Had similar experiences this week with lots of LLM tasks — parsing a PDF into a CSV, image detection, image cleanup.

These tools are changing so fast.

But Neil, no *one* product can do all of that!

I tried to generate an AI image of him doing both at the same time but ChatGPT and Claude both refused to depict violence involving real people. They just don’t know comedy!

I’m curious if there are historical analogs here. Did accountants feel this way at the introduction of the spreadsheet? They probably do 10x the work of a pre-digital accountant, but the work seems to have stabilized.

Separately, I wonder if “fewer paid to do the work” will pan out.

I think mine was a stabilizer of some kind and washer is ~15 years old. Fix seemed doable (I have replaced my heating element in my dryer twice and it seemed roughly the same difficulty) but I might have needed to replace all 4, which would’ve run $200ish just for parts.

So new washer. :)
