I think one also needs to be aware that the scale of legal risk associated with an action is not necessarily correlated to the righteousness of the action, nor to the injustice of the law at hand.

The RX100 used an image sensor that was bigger than most compact cameras at that time, somewhere between 3 and 4 times the surface area. It’s over simplification but more surface area, better light capture. Then add better components and lenses and it was just more capable at collecting light.

I’ve had several versions of the RX100 since the Mark I, such an excellent little shooter, way above everything else in its size.
