Millennial โข Carer โข #Shropshire, UK I have many interests, though I, myself, am not particularly interesting. But do take a seat and share with me your adventures, while I put the kettle on. Oh, and pardon the mess.

This juvenile robin was curiously watching me for a while, occasionally inching closer, before trying to land on me three times. ๐ณ

23.06.2025 22:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yup. I had one that sat on a dresser, along with my lava lamp and some weird hypnotic spinning UV reflective thing. (I'll try and find a pic of said thing. lol)
23.06.2025 22:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0What's a poster you had in your room growing up?
(Most of my posters were fantasy themed and UV reflective.)
Gotta be careful, spoiling them with all that. Next thing you know they're wanting salami, chocolate cake, pickles, cherry pie, and all sorts of other junk.

23.06.2025 02:05 โ ๐ 789 ๐ 165 ๐ฌ 11 ๐ 3Many tiny caterpillars, not even a day old, have munched a few small holes in the leaf of a nasturtium.
Underneath a different nasturtium leaf is a smaller group of freshly hatched caterpillars. Some are taking their first bite of greenery, while a few finish eating up their eggshells.
It's hatch day! ๐๐๐
I've never seen freshly hatched caterpillars (in person), and while I knew they'd be tiny, I still can't get over just how actually tiny they are. ๐ฅน๐
I really love how the colour bleeds across the petals of that first poppy! (Not sure if "bleeds" is the right word, but it reminds me of watercolour paint bleeding into pre-moistened patch of paper. ๐๏ธ)
21.06.2025 19:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Growing out of and spilling over the front of a whisky barrel (that you can barely see) are blossoming nasturtiums (Alaska mix), with blooms of rich yellow, orange, and red. (Peeping from the bottom left of the barrel is a grey stone dragon.)
A close up of the calendulas, which are also growing in the barrel. In the foreground, and in focus, is a bud with orangey-yellow petals peeking out. And blurred in the background is a yellow petal bud.
It's all happening in the whisky barrel! The nasturtiums are eagerly blooming, and the calendulas are about to pop! ๐

ONE MONTH TO GO ๐๐ฆ
Will you be joining us for the worldโs biggest survey of butterflies?
Spend 15 minutes outside counting butterflies and help take nature's pulse by taking part in the #BigButterflyCount from 18 July โ 10 August.
You'll find it surprisingly, surprisingly pleasant. ๐
A speckled wood butterfly, resting in the dense greenery of a raised flower bed.
A scarlet tiger moth, resting on the leaf of a cherry laurel.
While not a fan of being out in the heat, it was worth it to spot some new garden friends.
