This juvenile robin was curiously watching me for a while, occasionally inching closer, before trying to land on me three times. 😳

Yup. I had one that sat on a dresser, along with my lava lamp and some weird hypnotic spinning UV reflective thing. (I'll try and find a pic of said thing. lol)

What's a poster you had in your room growing up?

Many tiny caterpillars, not even a day old, have munched a few small holes in the leaf of a nasturtium.

Underneath a different nasturtium leaf is a smaller group of freshly hatched caterpillars. Some are taking their first bite of greenery, while a few finish eating up their eggshells.

It's hatch day! 🐛🐛🐛

I've never seen freshly hatched caterpillars (in person), and while I knew they'd be tiny, I still can't get over just how actually tiny they are. 🥹💚

I really love how the colour bleeds across the petals of that first poppy! (Not sure if "bleeds" is the right word, but it reminds me of watercolour paint bleeding into pre-moistened patch of paper. 🖌️)

Growing out of and spilling over the front of a whisky barrel (that you can barely see) are blossoming nasturtiums (Alaska mix), with blooms of rich yellow, orange, and red. (Peeping from the bottom left of the barrel is a grey stone dragon.)

It's all happening in the whisky barrel! The nasturtiums are eagerly blooming, and the calendulas are about to pop! 😃

So I've learned, this year. 😅 I did plant up the trugs for wildlife, though, so at least it's serving its purpose. lol
