A mass of green plants in front of a white fence.

A mass of green plants in front of a white fence.

Not quite survival of the fittest, more like communal living.

It's hard to tell, but this is a pumpkin vine intertwined with a tomato plant with a morning glory vine thrusting up between all. #garden

"...or Pavlov's bell"

"Crap, its dog, isnt it?"

Living with me is like watching a verbal pinball machine.

Two children stacked on top of each other laterally head to feet. The top one is in Beetlejuice body suit pajamas. The lower one is in an orange t and black shorts. The sun glares down on them through parted curtains.

I'm busy in the kitchen doing dishes, I come out to the living room to find this:

The older one proclaims, "we're bonding!"

I just wanna know if its covalent or ionic.

Every. Single. Time....usually multiple times.

Sometimes, it is followed by, nevermind, it was a truck/plane/fart.

I need some rules for this. Wouldn't Juneau be both farthest west and North?

Would Indonesia be farthest west or east for me? Does the international date line come into play?

I am overthinking things, aren't I?

A closed squash flower with a small proto-pumpkin is viewed behind a chain-link fence. The vine grabs the wire tightly.

I swear, proto-squash are cartoon characters.

Penelope Squash-blossom is in jail!

Confirmed for coal-country region of Pennsylvania.

Possibly also Dallas TX area in my day care but they literally had a non electric carpet cleaning device that did basically sweeping, so may have just been that device.

The Canadian wildfire smut is hanging over my area. Reminds me of the descriptions of the Summer with No Sun (1816) and I wonder if there's a Mary Shelley of this generation.

Similar to last week, today we snuck away to the beach while Calvin was at school. This time, Rehoboth's boardwalk and a sit-down lunch. It was nice making memories with the older boys.

We have two more days of summer school for C. Not much else planned, but we will make the most of it.

My husband has been making our deck more habitable lately. We even starting grilling more. Calvin was still swimming when dinner was ready, so we just ate ok the deck.

Sometimes it can be hard for me to break routines, but this one wasn't so bad at all!

My theory is that if we taxed most of these people without telling them and the people they pay to manage their money didn't tell them, they'd never notice.

And if you'd never notice you should be taxed even more.

Restless Ground: The Untold Story of Mt. Olive
YouTube video by NCCDE Restless Ground: The Untold Story of Mt. Olive

In โ€œRestless Ground: The Untold Story of Mt. Olive,โ€ we chronicle the mission to bring justice to Mt. Olive Cemetery. The documentary unearths pieces of black history that had been buried beneath Wilmington, while discussing the history of racial segregation in New Castle County.

These films would not be possible without the efforts of so many devoted NCC staff, including Vanessa Phillips, Kyle Grantham, Yvonne Anders Gordon, Aundrea Almond, CJ Bell, Brian Cunningham, Mike Pfeifer, Avinash Chellapoo, Alexander Newman, Kya Knox, Hector Tapia, Mark Lynch, and Matt Sullivan.

Last week, I woke from a nightmare that the Delaware River had a tsunami and I knew I couldn't head north through Wilmington's swamps and so dream-me had to try to remember where in Delaware is above sea level without crossing a body of water from the DMB.

The first time I heard, "This is not an airport, you do not need to announce your departure" I cackled. Now if ever I am tempted to do so before I bounce, I remind myself that I am not an airport.

I have followed "old favorite" authors on here only to discover that I missed out on releases. So, yes, I have made purchases SOLELY because of Bluesky.

Those authors that I have followed have also boosted other author's work that has led me to purchases.

AAC device is the speech technology used by the nonverbal. Basically, there are lots of apps available, but all of them seem to use ios only. Kiddo can carry the iPad everywhere to communicate.

My kid's aac device is the only apple product I own, and I'm still learning how to use it. How is the correct way to hold it?

(His device is strapped into so many protective covers, I couldn't find the power button for a month!)

You can sing the Sesame Street song "Rubber Ducky" but change the first line to "Motherfucker, burn in hell" and it works PERFECTLY

A short story and set within a favorite series (but able to be understood outside of the series), Mercedes Lackey's "A Tangled Web" was a perfect for getting me out of my recent slump. (Who doesn't love a fresh take on Persephone and Hades?)

No one should be denied a job, housing, or peace of mind because of an illness.

Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re investing $500K to eliminate up to $50 million in medical debt for thousands of Delawareans.

This is what it looks like to put people first. ๐Ÿงต

Be. Someone. You. Would. Love.

Someone you would want to spend time with, dress like, listen to, open up to, snort-giggle with, maybe give a tender kiss on the forehead.

When I think about the stupid mistakes LLMs make with words sometimes, (cf. the strawberry problem, fabricating quotations, or mixing up terms etc.), there's a well-known Old English riddle that comes to mind.

It's more than 1,000 years old but I think it has something to tell us about AI...
