Physics in relation to dry soils and rain clearly explained ๐Ÿ‘‡

The water on the wet grass runs away on top of the soil.
The water in a normal summer drains into the ground.
The water after a heatwave has nowhere to go.

Yes I know

It started with the far right attacking EU / non EU citizens.
Labour supporters were complacent and supported.

The far right then took that complacently / support and notched it up to an attack on the rule of law.

Labour supporters followed.

Now they promote widespread civil unrest.

They don't really have any viable policies anymore apart from performative deportations.
England and the UK is an insane mess now. ๐Ÿคช

Crazy how this Labour government is now just like Reform.

This is a performance that isn't designed to solve anything - all while they trash the economy. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

If they were interested in UK border security and preventing the loss of life they would:

Have safe routes
Request to join EU databases.

Never apologise to someone who chooses to copy the far right of their own free will.

Always blame them for choosing to do so and highlight what they now are.

This is someone who chooses to support the arrest of people holding banners - all while our justice system is creaking.

You have insulted yourself.
I just highlighted facts.

You active in support for:
Ignoring the rule of law for refusing to implement the TCA, deporting EU citizens and genocide.

Scapegoating migrants, watching people drown with no safe routes, ruining the economy & ignoring the Refugee convention.

You already are.

I'm an ex Tory member

It is tribal supporters like Jon that meant One Nation Tories were unable to prevent the party from being taken over by UKIP crazies.

Jon has no moral values

His failiure to hold Labour to account has ruined Labour and is ruining the UK.

The Green party prospective leader was talking about a basic income for farmers.

I pulled him up on that in the thread because it does not deal with any of the issues farmers have.

However maybe I am wrong and a basic income for farmers is a good idea.

Today a far right protest is expected to take place outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Bristol

Let me be clear: the far right are not welcome in Bristol. They donโ€™t represent us, or what we stand for

But I also want to be clear about whatโ€™s driving this wave of unrest...

Your question is legitimate

This govt will not be building many homes due to economic issues, staff shortages & inflation of getting stuff into the UK.

Plus, there are now 2.5 working people supporting each retired person now when it used to be 5 in the 1970s.

Plus, UK farms are going bankrupt.

Every day he could say:
"The reason for the poo in your bathing waters - Farage's Brexit.
The reason public services are being cut - Farage's Brexit.
The reason the UK's standing has fallen so much and we have to adopt standards from Europe - Farage's Brexit.
Etc."

I regret to inform you that Starmerโ€™s been tweeting dehumanising videos of migrants again.

These videos have been shown to increase support for Reform, by increasing salience of migration.

He has to go.

In addition to the excellent comments of Steve Peers, some comments on my own on this agreement:

TL;DR: the agreement is flawed, shames France and should be blocked by other EU MS.

Why? A number of points:

I understand the return part.

It is the limit the UK has set on accepting refugees that I do not understand.

The 1951 Convention does not state that states have a duty to refugees, apart from the UK that will only accept one if it can return another to France.

08.08.2025 17:27 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

I don't really understand how this is legal.
It is not morally acceptable but I would have thought it was not legally accepable either.

08.08.2025 16:33 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 4    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

Doesn't this agreement ignore the 1951 Refugee Convention though because it is placing a limit on the number of refugees the UK will accept while the UK government and their supporters just watch people drown?

08.08.2025 16:32 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

As a One Nation Conservative I feel it would be a good idea to remind you of your duty towards British values.

I usually have to remind the far right but in this case I have to remind you.

Democracy
The rule of law
Individual liberty
Tolerance

And...

Mutual respect

This guy doesn't half write some rubbish!
This is like the Spectator for Labour supporters.

If the UK was becoming a European country then it would be looking at PR and not FPTP, higher taxes but with the services to match and EU standards instead of food deregulation via statutory instruments.

When the Tories were taken over with money from Arron Banks and went crazy I didn't think the same would happen to Labour because they have / had a support base that were not half dead, mostly senile and crazy.

However, here we are.
I don't understand it and there is no political reason for it.

David Cameron blocks EU treaty with veto, casting Britain adrift in Europe EU leaders poised to line up 26-1 in support of Franco-German blueprint, but PM had apparent blessing of Nick Clegg

There is an article about how Cameron "used his veto to block a new EU-wide treaty and left at least 23 other countries to forge a pact to salvage the single currency" here ๐Ÿ”ฝ
