Stick 'em up!
07.08.2025 17:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No-one else in my family has MS but my mum, sister & niece all had ME. I canβt help thinking my MS links to it in some way.
06.08.2025 18:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβd have thought so!
Of course the documentary only shows one side but given some of the original evidence has been retracted itβs hard to see theyβd have anything convincing.
I watched it this afternoon. They make quite a convincing case, all the original evidence was circumstantial but added up to convict her. However if that some of that evidence comes under doubt there really doesnβt seem to be enough to go on.
04.08.2025 20:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It gets very confusing!
So many MS symptoms could be something else & they all flare up randomly from time to time. Several times Iβve had my left ear checked for infection, but no, itβs just random MS ear-ache π€·π»ββοΈ
So glad you got help when you needed it. I hope youβre feeling loads better tomorrow & the smoke clears.
17.07.2025 22:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Love having sweet peas in the garden & plenty to cut & bring indoors. Unfortunately havenβt quite recovered my sense of smell after covid yet. I have to get my nose right in there & take a good deep sniff to get just the slightest hint of their perfume.
12.07.2025 11:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sorry to hear this Mal, glad youβre ok.
09.07.2025 18:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ooh, disappointing! I have to say I fell for the story although you always know these things are written with a lot of bits exaggerated & others left out.
2nd & 3rd books repetitive & boring, film very dull! I wonβt be bothering with the 4thβ¦
Very scary!
It's such a slog ringing round everywhere too. OH did all that on the first prescription but wasn't around for the second one. If I'd felt worse I wouldn't have managed it.
All the pharmacies we spoke to said suppliers simply couldnβt supply either drug to them. GPs were unaware of the problem - hopefully itβs short-lived & theyβll be available again soon
04.07.2025 15:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For #MSFriday this week, my experience of #MS & anti-virals:
I tested +ve earlier this week & was prescribed paxlovid, but none to be found anywhere. Same story with the only alternative, molnupiravirπ€·π»ββοΈ
Worrying situation for MS patients but luckily my symptoms havenβt been bad & Iβm on the mend π
I tracked mine for a while, but couldnβt see a pattern so in the end just decided it wasnβt a very useful thing to do
04.07.2025 15:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 03 males! Thatβs good news for numbers returning to Poole Harbour π
29.06.2025 09:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We had a garden visitor! So excited to see a little hedgehog trundling along π₯°
28.06.2025 13:42 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Lovely to see the wildflower seeds I scattered a couple of years ago are coming into their own...
28.06.2025 10:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good to be part of this group & great to meet in person this week!
Looking forward to getting involved in more future projects - so important to have our voices valued by those influencing policy.

Howβs your #MSFriday shaping up?
Iβm in recovery mode (ie quiet day pottering at home then feet up with wineβ¦.) after a trip to London for a @denpru-qm.bsky.social meeting. Great to meet the team in person & feeling positive about involvement in research projects ahead.
All of these seem to help, they have common elements yet theyβre all a bit different.
The psychological benefit of taking some level of control is definitely a common factor!
So difficult & reminds me of our experience with my dad a couple of years ago. Alzheimer's, chest infection, covid, flu all made it impossible to investigate & treat the bowel cancer we all suspected.
In the end managing symptoms rather than prolonging end of life was the best way forward
Xxx
Sending hugs, we're all so amazed by what you're doing!
15.06.2025 18:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Morning!
Things ok here, sunβs shining & forecasts say this afternoonβs rain will pass us by.
Off on an Osprey spotting tour with @harbourbirds.bsky.social this afternoon so π€the forecasts are right.
Squirrel walk on Brownsea Island
10.06.2025 19:25 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The main thing that trips me up is my own feet!
09.06.2025 14:58 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, we often hear it & you can see tyre marks on the road where theyβve done donuts.
I think they use local car parks too.
I do get naughtier than that or I'd never eat out!
Our sailing club does a small portion of GF fish & chips & I do occasionally have that with no obvious I'll effect. I do get a good wallop of fatigue if I indulge in sugar though.
That looks good!
My sister gave me a bottle of 'misogrette' salad dressing. Somewhat processed & probably not really OMS compliant, but very tasty!
I don't miss meat or milk & cream, but it's that satisfying complex hit of umami you get with a good cheese. I occasionally get a good artisan vegan cheese but a lot of those have quite a bit of coconut oil.
I wouldn't miss crisps but can't stop myself when they're there π€·π»ββοΈ
I still canβt resist the odd slither of cheese, especially something like gruyere. Otherwise not too bothered.
With some of the processed stuff itβs just hard to break the habit - I go on autopilot reaching for the crisps.
