Almost a full year out from graduating with my MFA, and today I'm finally back to teaching creative writing: a twelve-person fiction workshop at my local community center! In third grade I accidentally kicked another kid’s sweater that was on the floor while going to sit at my desk. Before I could go get it back, a different kid kicked it back toward me, THEN told on me and himself. Only time I ever had detention and I am still salty about it.
