You can have that opinion if you want. But when you tell people what you believe, I bet you tell them you're an atheist rather than saying you don't believe in God. Atheism is likely what you identify as because it's a summation of what you chose not to believe.

Zero is still a number.

"From what you understand" is my point. It is not okay to make blanket statements about all religions and all people who practice those religions. It's as closeminded as claiming that being an atheist is evil.

Making a blanket statement and telling billions of people they can't practice their religion because it's bad is the same thing as telling billions of people that they have to be Christians because *they're* bad. And I would argue that atheism is, in its own way, a religion.

Least harmful according to who? What is the litmus test? Buddhism is fine. Reform Judaism is fine. Taoism is fine. Those are just the major religions. They are also smaller, regional religions that are perfectly fine.

You posting a quote with the word church is only proving my point. Christianity is a cult and a scam. That doesn't mean every religion is.

Talking about your religious trauma is one thing, but it feels like most of these comments are people using religion to refer to Christianity. Saying religion as a whole is bad is like saying that everyone should be a vegetarian. I respect everyone's experiences but not everyone has religious trauma
