1/6 Our paper today โ www.nature.com/articles/s41... work from Kenya - shows protective antibodies against falciparum malaria sporozoites work against sporozoites injected into the skin, not against sporozoites injected into veins. Why does this matter?

A person is seropositive to an infectious disease if their antibody level is above some cutoff. But selecting this cutoff is surprisingly trickly.

Dads deserve a better paternity deal โ so does the economy
New fathers who want to bond with their babies are treated in a derisory way in the UK โ and that harms us all
The UK's paternity leave is the worst in Europe. It frustrates dads, burdens mums, and impoverishes us all. The fight for better parental leave is not just a demand for common decency, but for common sense.

Powerful new tool against Malaria (๐๐ข๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ)
Instead of killing mosquitoes, bed nets coated with ELQs (endochin-like quinolones) KILL THE MALARIA PARASITES INSIDE THE INSECTS. Infected mosquitoes land, absorb the drug through their legs, and are rendered parasite-free
