I don’t understand why it it isn’t possible to isolate the immunoglobulins from the serum that are causing the mitochondrial damage?

Hopefully the decorator hung all the gold crap up with command strips.

I honestly don’t even envy that. I don’t see a warm inviting home, just a giant responsibility. A comfy cottage on the 50,000 acres sure sounds nice though.

Don’t forget his efforts to reshape the lower court judiciary and prevent Obama from filling a Supreme Court seat. It’s all coming to fruition now!

I blame McConnell.

I’ld love to get one and start tracking blood flow to my head correlated with symptoms, but sadly they are crazy expensive.

Astounding that 40+ years on from the disastrous CFS label, that we are just now developing a standardized research definition for ME! So much wasted time and unnecessary suffering!

Pretty small N! Hopefully they do a larger study soon.

This feels way off base to me. Heat may positively alter some of these lab values they are testing for but what effect does it have on the many other ME parameters and how does it affect overall symptoms? For me heat is disastrous, especially for my orthostatic intolerance.

When I was in vet school the biochemistry prof had a Krebs cycle song set to Dashing Through The Snow. πŸŽΆβ€œYou take an acetate, condense it with a mate, and pretty soon you have acetoacetate” 🎢 and so on for the entire cycle. We could all be heard singing the song under our breaths for the test! 🀣

I don’t wish it on anybody, but I wish there was like an avatar where they could live in my life for a few days to understand.

My muscles were just suddenly mostly dead! Pain, cramping, spasms, trembling, too weak to walk 3 steps. It started worst in my legs then migrated up to my arms and shoulders. I couldn’t stand up back straight for like a year. Unable to sleep, at all. Severe brain fog. Total and utter malfunctions.

I’m quite similar! A flu followed by 3 more β€œviruses” over the next 2 1/2 months, then a cold sore popped up a month later (never had one before), then 1 month later I had the fateful day. Woke fine and by the end of the day I was in 8/10 pain and could barely walk 3 steps.

I assume it was flu. I wasn’t tested though. It was smack in the middle of the 2018-2019 flu season which was more severe than avg years. Urgent cares and ERs were full of flu patients and Tamiflu was in low supply.

I think my ME/CFS was triggered by a case of flu in Dec 2018. I had a drip drip loss of my health over the following 6 months culminating in a sudden descent into severe ME over the span of 1 day. I’ve improved to moderate over the years but have never recovered.

β€œIf funded” the tragic words associated with so many ME research proposals.

Same for me in the US, 4.5 years for a diagnosis. And that only happened because I figured it out on my own from the internet and managed to get myself to one of the few ME specialist clinics in the country.

Yes, we memorized important phone numbers. And our SS#. My mother could rattle off her Sear’s credit card # also.

I tried something similar on my own with the Visble app. I didnt find it any more effective at avoiding PEM than just being aware of other body signals. And it stressed me out to tie my awareness to that alarm which went off constantly. If I was moving enough to trigger it, it’s because I had no 1/2

11.10.2025 12:35 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I see it as an encouraging jumping off point. Fingers crossed it holds up under further research.

I’m a vet, I use them on cats/dogs so YMMV. They can give false readings if not applied correctly. And I’m sure for other reasons. Extreme readings should be verified with a glucometer. If those low readings are verified, you need an immediate evaluation for possible causes of hypoglycemia.
