Outside the Chicago Theater police have about six things marked off with evidence markers that I can see.

Chicago police are on scene outside the Chicago Theater for at least two people shot. Loads of cops in the downtown area and loads of young people standing off with police. Seen some officers with their rifles out.

Chicago’s Christmas Tree is now lit.

Update took me 1.5 hours to get from the harbor to my home 2.5 miles north away…1.4 of those hours were just getting from the peninsula to Lawrence.

Now past the hour mark since I tried leaving still stuck in the park. CPD has long since given up traffic management.

Just as I was typing this CPD just got on scene and seem to be doing much needed traffic management. I was afraid people were going to be driving through the park itself before long (I’ve seen this happen on LSD before on a major traffic jam).

And vehicles are now saying fuck this and are going on the wrong side of the road to try to get out.

Welp trying to get home from Montrose Harbor will be a bit of a challenge. I’ve gone a collective of 300 yards in 25 minutes.
