this is, probably, the most surprising point for me
turns out, these rogue endometrial cells are switching to anaerobic lactate metabolism JUST AS cancerous cells do

a great read on the topic i knew so little about!
A beautiful stand of Saguaro cacti, in shades of pastel near sunset or sunrise.
What if there were a carbon sequestration method that was fully solar-powered, could be deployed anywhere & cost pennies per unit?
Oh. Trees. I just re-invented trees.
EXCEPT trees don't hold carbon for very long.
Enter the Saguaro cactus:
It shifts carbon from 'biotic' to 'abiotic'!

i was under impression that Asgard archea only inhabit abyssal plains in deep oceanic floor
turns out, sweeping the coastal wetlands can yield HUNDREDS of their previously unknown genomes (China has it all)
and tell us new details about the emergence of Eukariotes
Dark thread on a beige cloth background: a round-bodied man in knee-socks and a bizarre crested helmet holds a sword and metal club or mace, while a deer-headed hominid with knee-socks and armor battles him in profile view, Behind them are various desert plants, and a wavy line suggests they stand on sand dunes.
From r/embroidery subreddit:
user 'strombus_monster' reproduced a Moche depiction of:
"A deer fighting a lima bean in the desert."
The Moche were the dominant culture in Northern Peru ~ 100 CE to 800 CE.
я научился плавать лет в 25, но правда без учителей, самостоятельно, на море
до сих пор не избавился от неофитского пыла :)
ah, so there was a justification for the biotic process, i just missed it
does it seem reasonable for you? is it really impossible to accumulate the “observed” amount via photochemical route?
thanks for the clarification!

as i understand from this paper, dumethylsulfide is NOT a biosignature
so the question “whether it’s observed in the exoplanet’s atmosphere” lacks existential value and is more like a discussion about experimental methods among astronomers
one of my major accomplishments of the year gone by:
i could wrap my head about the Minty Hall problem and validate this comprehension via explanation to my family so they understood it too!
recently i’ve invested 30 euro in a cadence sensor, and oh boy, turns out, i was riding the wrong way all along!
now i’m gradually accustoming myself to ride on a higher rpm, aiming for 80-90
very different feeling, albeit a more pleasant one
riding in a bad weather scores extra points of badassery, but riding in a nice weather just feels about right

there was also less cruel (people were just fired, nobody was jailed or murdered), but still absolutely crazy campaign against idealistic theory of resonance which contradicted the proper materialistic view on chemical bond’s true nature

ok, that’s even funnier and gives a nice example how pronounced phenotypic differences can stem from changes in regulatory “non-coding” sequences
