Jack’s grandfather often used a wood burner, but after visiting, Jack would experience concerning health impacts. “I always found after going that my chest just felt worse. My brother as well has got quite bad asthma, and I don’t think anyone really put two and two together, until a bit later, that he’d always have his worst nights just after visiting.

Instead of doubling down on airport expansion, the UK should focus on sustainable transport and policies that genuinely grow the economy without destroying the climate.

Sustainable aviation fuels are sold as a climate solution.

But the truth is: they’re costly, unscalable, and not ready for widespread use.

Instead of cutting emissions, they risk becoming a greenwashing excuse for dangerous airport expansion.
