Free-slip, semi-slip, updraft nudging, turbulent boundary layers, etc. I think they can all be used under the right circumstances as long as you understand the pitfalls of each setup choice you make. They all seem to be able to simulate fairly realistic supercells. #SLS31

It was also cool to see that, while there are still several philosophies on how to properly simulate supercells in CM1, it seems that we are slowly converging on a similar thought process. Thereβs been enough experiments done now that weβre understanding the caveats of each method. 1/2

#SLS31 was fantastic this year. Lots of great conversations with great scientists/people. This was my first SLS that I felt very confident in my abilities as a scientist, which was a great feeling. It was also wonderful to see several former students who have blossomed into confident scientists too!
