I feel alone in my belief that managers bullying suicidal staff in the NHS is wrong.
No-one in the @royalberkshospital.bsky.social Trust has acknowledged that very basic aspect of human morality.
Whilst bullying within NHS Trusts like the @royalberkshospital.bsky.social is known about and accepted as a feature of cultural toxicity.
It remains morally wrong. Morally corrupt.
Before she threatened me and bullied others out of an NHS Trust, an NHS Deputy Head of Clinical Engineering said to me
"I need to run the workshop like a battery farm!"
"We need to make the data look good for people higher up"

She told me she had an anger mangement problem.
Yet her anger destablised a Department, causing an NHS Trust to go into reputation management.

"You need to learn to lie more to get ahead"
He said that whilst sitting next to someone from HR. I was trying to raise patient safety concerns and would not lie.

I found your article on lived experience very refreshing. Your sense of civic duty echoes my career with traumatised amputees. We both stepped up with NHS Nightingale. To me the NHS values epitomise what we are capable of when we all pull together.

All of the choices I made were made out of compassion for others. To civic duty. To patient safety. I was never concerned about my self, my reputation, my finances or personal security. Because cvic duty calls us to transcend those things.

Some 68000 NHS staff attempted suicide. I survived my suicide attempt and was threatened with legal action by my Trust for being so vocal about their failings.
