08.11.2025 01:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0lmao "overtime rate"
In every IT job I've had you just work unlimited unpaid overtime.
I QA'd the Scene rollout in Sobeys and that shit was just constant unpaid evenings and some weekends.
I dont even know what they mean by AI doing QA. What are they using? Does an LLM get fed gameplay footage?
Does the chat bot input controller commands until it gets stuck?
Didn't Mamdani get 60% of the vote? Even if they didn't split the other votes he would've won right?
07.11.2025 04:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's funny I didnt really notice it when I played it a few months ago. But I drop games like a hat, and haven't had the energy to try it again.
I wonder if I subconsciously dropped it because of the stutter. I play on Linux so its possibly not an issue there (unlikely).
Does this game use HDR? I feel like I can't see half of the screenshot because the lighting is so dim (im just on my phone, so not ideal conditions).
07.11.2025 04:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a linux user, I dont like that videogames must be developed for Windows first, and adapted to Linux. I'd like for developers to have the option to develop for Linux first, easily and well. And then adapt it to Windows.
I'd like Linux to be the base, it can and should be. But needs work.
It's great to see Proton working so well that native games can consolidate to a Windows version.
But also, the state of C library dependencies and stuff on Linux is why Linux native games seem to decay. Native Linux is sadly worse to develop for.
musl for life lol
A Taito cabinet would be a dream.
But for $350 CAD I would really like an HDMI out, to mirror the screen for multiplayer. And to share with friends by streaming on Discord.
I wonder if Valve is involved with them, and that's why the Arm steamdeck is possibly in development (rumour)
07.11.2025 03:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As somebody who has done atleast a couple years of QA for just websites; It is very funny to me that "people" (executives) who don't do QA think the language-based LLMs will be able to affectively QA anything at all.
07.11.2025 03:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's still too expensive.
For normal human beings with a life and shit.
I knew I shouldn't have started following Polygon.
Unfortunately I suspect your audience is already aware and in agreement with you on them so maybe the effort it takes to speak out should be conserved for the most impactful moments

04.11.2025 19:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The sequel to Thumper I was waiting for.
Thumper is the best rhythm game I have ever played.
That is if you're more into bespoke rhythm games like Bitrip, and not music collections.
Holy shit your name is Josh
04.11.2025 14:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0pairing images of violence with a person's denouncement of violence in order to associate them with violence is really quite remarkable

02.11.2025 12:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I haven't been watching it but the changes from the source material sound like Netflix execs trying to chase Game of Thrones.
So you'll have to accept that few people agree with you.
Cavil told them it was bad and they replaced him.
And then made the bad show.
Now people are gonna shit on Liam Hemsworth, instead of Netflix and the show runners.
From what Ive heard, they completely changed a lot of characters and events in season 4. In ways that aren't satisfying or useful.
Like they diverged from the material for the sake of diverging.
I hope people consider donating to them (there should be a donate button or header right on their hone page)

I am baffled they need these datacentres. What are they running on them? Just shitbox prompt dialogue for LLMs? Or something useful?

01.11.2025 10:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Im always confused by tbe term upscaling.
Because upscaling is just scaling-up the old image to fit on a higher resolution screen, which you always have to do. There are many algorithms to choose where pixels go (ex: retrotink), but the resolution of the image stays the same.
I struggle to believe an application that simply sends network traffic the same as the existing stream, can disrupt their connection to the internet.
01.11.2025 03:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I think when someone really stupid, proudly proclaims their really stupid opinion. It is our duty to absolutely demolish them in replies and posts online.
Otherwise they will think they're right.
We must tell Jamie Oliver he's a dumbass
I should make a script of some kind that reads a torrent tracker and pulls it and its downloaded files out of a shared directory and into their own directory.
I dunno how to write a script that can both read file contents and move files around and make directories though.
