Users of Gen AI climb on the backs of actual creators and stick flags between their shoulder blades, treating them like territory. Us and our work are just ladders to them. The only work they really want to do is to climb over us and claim our talent and abilities as their own.

Also feeling this as a writer. It's exhausting and demoralizing. 😔

Yup. Real influenza is not a 2-day sniffles kind of thing. That family member was completely healthy, and also didn't have 15lbs to lose. The other really irritating thing about that post is that protecting *everyone* keeps the most vulnerable (babies, elders, immune-compromised, can't do vax) safe.

Also, don't be smug, Canada. We are heading down this road ourselves. We're just a bit farther behind in the conversion to idiocy-in-place-of-public-health policy that the entire western world has chosen to adopt. 😑

But, like, they decided to essentially forcibly infect their entire population with the brain-damaging, immune-system-eroding virus and also insist kids with diarrhea should be attending school, so I guess this is just par for the course.

This is BS. 1) Actual influenza (not just a really nasty cold you're calling "the flu") can knock you on your ass for *weeks*, even if you are healthy. A family member in their 40s was sick for 4 weeks & lost 15 lbs w/ flu. 2) It's insane that UK is not providing flu shots to its entire population.

I just got an email telling me I can get Santa to pitch my book with an AI video. 😑

I can tell you why -- or at least, in part. Because people have normalized going to school and daycare and work sick. They're not taking precautions. Clean air? No. Masking? No. Vaccination? No.

For those of us looking at AI class action suits -- this could have an impact. If Carney grants AI companies immunity from prosecution for copyright violations because NOT allowing them to use our work would impede their "efficiency", where does that leave us?

Things people should be paying attention to but aren't. This bill gives the government the ability to allow individuals and businesses to break ANY federal law (except Criminal Code) for 6 years at a time. Think about that.

Environmental laws. Labour Code. COPYRIGHT. All optional now. 😑
