Our takeaway is that data centers exist in the context of their environments and exacerbate existing utility and pollution concerns.

What does that mean for us? Longer blackouts after a strong gust of wind? Higher concentrations of pfas? Who knows! It's all under an NDA 🫠🫠🫠

- DTE claims power bills will go *down* bc of the 1.4 gigawatt data center, so they are applying to skip public oversight processes.

- Even if this were true, our costs are not our only concern and we demand to be heard

Political Speech and the Public Square debates AI UMich community members gathered on Tuesday to hear from students and faculty about the use of artificial intelligence in the classroom.

"Graham Hardig said governments should work together to restrict how AI can be integrated into national security to prevent it from interfering with highly dangerous weapons...That means prohibiting things like autonomous bioweapon development and AI’s integration into nuclear weapons systems."
