If people accepted that violent rhetoric was bad and stopped it, Kirk would still be alive
Many conservatives were getting mad at people for explaining Kirk's harmful, violent rhetoric designed to radicalise people to commit acts of violence against those they label corrupt and bad
Turns out Kirk's killer was radicalised by it before realising that Kirk is the one who is corrupt and bad
Sad that BlueSky lasted even less than Meta or Twitter before showing their true colours and supporting hateful bigots over their victims

They only care about helping trillion dollar global energy & mining corporations make a little bit more money at our expense
One thing I really loved was Age of Apocalypse era Wolverine comic with an alternate new Fantastic Four
It was the first comic I read where MJ was actually interesting - Spider-Gwen might be the second
They're expected to work 80 hours on a slave wage, find the time to buy, prepare & cook 3 meals a day, take their kids to and from school each day AND help them with homework
And take their kids to sports training and games
This isn't their failure, it's society's
Punishing victims is evil

Yet it still happens
A quick Google would show you how prevalent it is, which is kinda scary when in some cases, it's a life or death situation
This also illustrates the value in looking, listening & working hard to understand so that you can validate a victim's situation (so they at least feel seen by one person who hasn't gone through what they have) & even more importantly, help others to also learn from the victims & reduce future harm
18.07.2025 00:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You know whatβs insane to me is that the two attempts on Trump were done by former Trump supporters and he just gaslit a huge chunk of his base, disowned them, and called them stupid. Shit is gonna get wild

Same with most people and abuse - "it just CAN'T be that, so she must be lying"
Everyone please check out the original post, there's a very detailed thread and many responses from people with their own experiences
It's a serious issue that everyone needs to know about

Almost every single woman who has told me (or I've read) about their need for a hysterectomy or other similar procedure for major health reasons also was told by at least one medical professional that their husband - or a potential future husband - needs to consent first
17.07.2025 09:17 β π 265 π 73 π¬ 19 π 2Because of my male privilege, I've never had my health concerns dismissed because of "weight" and because of my white privilege, I've never had my health concerns dismissed because of assumptions I'm on drugs or withdrawing from them
And I've had Chronic Fatigue & other health issues for 20+years
The risks are less with women doctors, but the risks are sadly still there
That also includes other misogynistic attitudes in healthcare, such as only women having their health concerns dismissed because weight loss is a magic cure-all
The risks increase for patients who aren't white/cis-het
I would call that toxic femininity
I remember when a woman told me about the hysterectomy she'd had and that another woman asked her if she was still a real woman
I told my kids that they don't owe me anything and I specifically mentioned grandkids because I hate toxic societal expectations
And what if a doctor decides that he doesn't want to provide the abortion?
Even in Australia, not many places provide the service and every now and then, there's either a shortage of the medication or regional hospitals that suddenly decide that they won't provide abortion services any more
I absolutely hate it when people try and tie the value of a woman or girl in her ability and desire to have children and be the target of a man's lust
This also includes shaming girls & women for health issues like alopecia, burns, disabilities, fertility issues and/or even being LGBTQIA+ or a POC
For people who don't want to believe this - most women I've heard from (or about) who have needed a procedure have been told things like this from doctors and many have also had other people (even sometimes other women) question if they're still a real woman
17.07.2025 08:58 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Healthcare is a basic human right.
Disabled people shouldnβt have to βprove they matterβ to access care.
Failing to provide basic care to everyone only creates more sickness and disability.
You want to make a population healthier?
Give them medical care.

15.07.2025 05:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It shouldnβt be considered radical to believe that every human life has value.
It shouldnβt be controversial to say no one should have to prove their worth.
It shouldnβt be divisive to fight for a basic income, healthcare, education, food and housing for all.
