I'm disappointed they didn't just tack it on to esafety and call it a day

Look I'm not saying that the person who thinks you flick buttons doesn't understand the pitfalls to look out for when dealing without llm output, but I'll just say I'm looking forward to the next time I read about her firm's involvement with llms, and especially what the judge has to say about it

/13 Why? For proximity to power. For prestige. For attention.

Some tongues were made to praise God. Some tongues were made to sing. Some were made for poetry, some for prose, some to agitate and some to soothe.

But some tongues were made for the boot.

Although I guess putting resources into features instead of safety does say something, heh.

I think we'd have to agree to disagree there, I don't think it's useless to everyone, and as long as people can reasonably decide on whether the risk is personally worth it for them I'm not fussed. No arguments on them having safety concerns unaddressed, but this seems separate?

Ah yeah, that's fair. No arguments that BlueSky hasn't spent a fair amount of time shooting off their own toes.
When I think about the few companies I trust it's the ones that are very forthright about why they exist, what they're doing, and especially how they're doing business (funding etc).

Yeah, if companies get the same response whether they do the right thing or the wrong thing, there's no incentive to do the right thing.

Who would have guessed that the ad company stealing page contents to serve you without visiting the pages would save them countless billions in ad payouts.

Ah yeah good plan. I just had a thought to, was this on a bill or read from the meter? If it's the bill it might be their estimate rather than actual usage

Yikes, can you turn off the flow at the meter? Your pilot light will go out but that seems less-bad

I was impressed by this statement by Australia's Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism, Jillian Segal, in response to the nazi rally at the NSW state parliament yesterday:
