I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.

I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

i don't think democratic voters should have to spend this much time whipping democratic elected officials.

No.

No.

Last night, the Trump Administration sent a letter suggesting Wisconsin should return our FoodShare payments.

Captain says flying at 8000 feet (!) Newark to Savannah today instead of 34000 because of air traffic control restrictions. Everyone has to say seated including flight attendants. Never in my 40 years in flying has this happened … wondering what the view will be 😀

The last 2 mornings I've tried "Morning Pages" where you fill up 3 pages by hand.

I've been surprised I've been able to write 3 pages on a single topic. Which isn't great, because it definitely is an indication of how far I've fallen into social media & decreased attention span.

It's been good

She was charged $1,780 for Doobie Brothers tickets she didn’t order. Her credit card refused a refund. - The Boston Globe Megan Reilly Padilla had never even set up an account on StubHub, but her Chase card held her responsible for the charges on the ticket resale site.

If only there were some sort of agency to protect people against abuses by credit card companies. Some sort of bureau of financial protection, if you will.

Debt Has Entered the A.I. Boom

"To obtain the capital they need, hyperscalers have leveraged a growing list of complex debt-financing options ... That shift is fueling speculation that A.I. investments are turning into a game of musical chairs whose financial instruments are reminiscent of the 2008 financial crisis."

Vibe shift.

Someone should go there and show them the clips of Trump's Great Gatsby party. I bet they'd be so happy to know he's having fun.

Trump taking a victory lap because Walmart made their Thanksgiving meal smaller and crappier (and hence cheaper) is such a perfect encapsulation of his hucksterism

I called AAA to get the truck towed.

We have 3 drivers and 3 cars and at this very moment 0 of them are usable.

Once I get home with the battery we should be back to 1 usable car.

This should have taken 30 minutes

It's already been 75

2-3 blocks from the store his truck gives me a "low brake fluid" warning.

I get the fluid and pour it in. As I'm leaving I see a puddle.

I start tapping the brakes and see fluid coming out behind me.

So now I had to call my wife to come get me

The clamp is corroded into pieces.

I get in my son's truck and drop my wife off at our daughter's house.

I then head to get a new battery.

His brakes are spongy so I figure he's low on fluid and will get more at the parts store.

Why I hate car problems (a 1st world problem)

Last night I took my car in to get the transmission checked. My wife was going to pick me up in her truck, but the battery was dead. We could get it jumped and I suspected a problem with the terminal.

Today I pull the battery to replace it.

Psst! Hey, Senate Dems, now would be a great time to demand concessions from GOP leadership.

Don’t end the shutdown unless they fully fund ACA, reverse the shutdown firings, undo some of the DOGE cuts, and have a vote to release the Epstein files.

You have leverage after last night. Use it.

Americans want sane, stable leadership that is focused on lowering the cost of living.

People are already fed up with the chaos and corruption of the Trump administration.

Republicans should LISTEN and work with us to reopen government and save the ACA tax credits.

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

The video cut to a woman in the stands losing her mind cheering for her team.

The coach said "And there's Mrs. Taylor"

When I told her that she asked if she should quiet down.

I told her "No, I can always hear you and know you're there."

The second story is about how much she supported my sister and me. I played little league football and my mom was at every game. That wasn't _that_ unusual, a lot of the parents were there.

But she cheered.

Loudly.

For everyone.

One time a coach was showing us a football highlight video

That way she could clear the path for herself. It's a sentiment I often share.

One time she told our pastor that and he asked if she wanted a bulldozer blade.

She told him "No, I don't want them getting crushed or hurt, I just don't want them in front of me."

If someone was taking too long at an intersection, she'd say "What? Are you waiting for an engraved invitation?"

But one unique thing was that she always wanted a claw on the front of her car. She wanted to be able to pick up a car in front of her and move it, safely, to the side of the road.

Today would have been my mom's 76th birthday (she's been gone for a shade over 16 years).

So I'm going to tell you 2 stories about her.

First, almost all of my bad driving habits came from her. She would talk to drivers (from the safety of her own car, of course).
