Ellen Bakotich is a Neuroscience PhD candidate in the Buffalo Lab, studying the neurobiological mechanisms of cognitive aging. Her thesis work investigates how normative aging affects eye movement behaviors in aged non-human primates viewing natural images.

Dr. Joe Armstrong is a postdoc in Maitreya Dunhamβs lab in the dept of Genome Sciences. His research focuses on using bakerβs yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and modified continuous culture systems known as aging chemostats to evolve yeast cells to extend replicative lifespan.

We also had 4 tetrad dissection microscopes join the lab this week, as part of the @uw-nsc.bsky.social renewal! These belonged to Matt Kaeberlein as part of their large scale efforts to measure replicative lifespan in yeast. We are now offering them as loaners for labs who want to try lifespans.
