I am not advocating laser weapons per se, but a range of nastier and less nasty countermeasures for the grey zone between peace and war.

Shooting down an aircraft must be the very last option for obvious reasons. We need a range of increasingly severe ways to confront an intruder, from flying to meet it and taking a photo all the way to blinding it with a laser or other directed energy weapon. The Chinese are very innovative in this.

Naphtha, kerosene and jet fuel out of natural gas?? Copilot is hallucinating. You get a little propane and butane as a byproduct of LNG production and they may be used as a component in winter grade gasoline but not in the heavier products like kerosene.

Land swaps are only agreed between the parties that occupy the land. US and Russia can of course agree on land swaps between each other, and Alaska is a natural place for such discussions..

Remote ID is of course only effective against amateur users who don't follow the rules. They can be identified and fined. Unidentified drones in no fly zones should be taken down without warning.

I agree with you. What is the point with no fly zones if the government cannot de dacto enforce them? The legal obstacles to this must be cleared.

According to EASA regulations, all drones above category C0 must have remote ID. Category C0 means drones weighing less than 250 grams.
We use a C0 drone sometimes for building measurements, because you are allowed to fly it over people, but it cannot carry any advanced sensors bc of weight.

Why don't they shoot them down? In the EU, all drones are required to send remote ID by radio. The authorities should be given the right to shoot down any drone in a no-fly zone without remote ID.
