Out next week in the US (sadly not until March in Uk). Lots of essays from a bit of autobiography to pieces on people (Michael Howard, Mandela, Putin), praising tactics, zugzwang v stalemate, retrospects on Iraq war, and even the strategy of Barbie. global.oup.com/academic/pro...

Elon Musk’s Foundation Grows to $14 Billion, but Gives Little to Outsiders

"But, for the fourth year in a row, the huge charity failed to give away the minimum amount required by law β€” and the donations it did make went largely to charities closely tied to Mr. Musk himself."

So it's just tax evasion.

What YIMBYism has to offer feminism is therefore a vision of a new kind of city: a city where, as Rebecca Tiffany so eloquently put it, β€œEvery trans eighteen-year-old who is stuck living with unsupportive family [is] able to afford an apartment in a vibrant urban space with transit on a minimum wage job.” This is a vision of a different way of ordering society, one based on abundant housing and well-remunerated labor. The struggle against misogyny, against transphobia, and against homophobia, are immense world-historical struggles waged in the battleground of the soul, and in their own way quite intractable. The material patterns of dependence that underpin patriarchy, on the other hand, are much more available to the levers of public policy. A program of abundant housing is a program of material emancipation of the vulnerable from patriarchy.

The emphasis of our fundraiser has been on the aspect of being superior opposition media, but I do think it's important to point out we have always have a positive vision. Sometimes it's inspiring, like this www.liberalcurrents.com/feminism-wit...

The military absolutely talks about those stains. Remember, we know about My Lai because Army soldiers spoke up.

A profession isn’t perfect, but it does police itself and tries to do better.

Ultimate tragedy of lives lost

Ultimate tragedy of lives lost

Might I introduce you to β€œthe ultimate tragedy” I reference:

The worst part about the boat strikes - regardless of who ordered what and besides the ultimate tragedy of lives lost - is they’re forever a stain on the professionalism and dignity of the United States military.

They’re an insult to every American who ever sacrificed to do the right thing.

Counterintelligence nightmare fuel.

Troops trading crypto and working side jobs as tik tok influencers, definitely nothing bad can come of that….

Tankies love to act like the American military is some evil monolith, but the truth is that the vast majority of American service-members are decent people who reflect the society they come from.

National Guard member killed in D.C. shooting remembered for 'heart of gold' The slain soldier’s former boyfriend recalled her empathy and generosity. β€œShe doesn’t even have to know you and she’ll do anything for you,” he said.

Sarah Beckstrom's ex-boyfriend told NBC News she dreamed of becoming an FBI special agent.

She didn't want to deploy to D.C.

"She hated it. She cried about it."

But she started visiting monuments and museums and started enjoying it.

May she rest in peace.

If that was the best Congress could do, assuming they knew this, then we have some big problems with morals and moral courage.

β€œWell yeah they ejected safely but they were under chute so better kill them” - also a war crime

To be explicit, we executed a German U-Boat commander who said he had to sink lifesaving gear / β€œinadvertently” kill survivors because it might give away his position, thereby potentially resulting in the loss of his submarine.

We executed multiple members of that crew.

Soldiers and Airmen of the National Guard.

National Guardsmen.

We wouldn’t say β€œmembers of the US Army.”

Reporting about the tragedy in DC really irks me.

Talking about, β€œNational Guard members” like they’re, β€œmembers of the local knitting club.”

They’re American soldiers and airmen. They wear a uniform just like active duty. Our enemies see them the same. Report on them appropriately.
