Possibly, but I do think itโs funny how every month or two this sentiment is brought up, and in alternating months thereโs a somehow disconnected discourse about why this site is not growing

31.08.2025 17:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Cowardly seems too strong a word, surely the one quarter+ of foreign born professors at US universities are not cowards for taking the best option for themselves

19.07.2025 13:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I hate do-operators in DAG (sim city for epidemiologists mercs and clinician investigators) as much as I hate waterfall diagrams and trial emulations(*) and only slightly less than I hate kale.
(*) be honest it is just an observational study, which can be quite valuable without the emulation hype
Currently debating whether my contribution is โnovelโ or just so dumb no oneโs done it before.
06.06.2025 11:00 โ ๐ 85 ๐ 10 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 4It seems to me that like a lot of stacked DiD studies there isnโt a real โfirst stageโ available. What we really want is the effect of a minimum wage change for those that the minimum wage is binding.

What is the test? They all easily won their elections so they are in fact popular
14.02.2025 22:45 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This compares pretty favorably to other care systems, but interestingly, we could not find other work that breaks it down by patient and clinic reasons for cancellation
13.02.2025 15:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0About 10-11% of VA primary care appointments are either missed or cancelled the day of the appointment. About one-third of that is VA cancelling on the patient.

I think if it said โdifferences in trendsโ the answer is true (in the sense that there is evidence against the assumption) but if it said โdifferences in levelsโ the answer is false.
Anyway โfectโ and โdid2sโ both have nice formal tests
I think the poll just doesnโt specify if itโs a difference in levels or trends
