Don't forget that copyright laws were only created after the invention of the printing press. While it was fine for humans to laboriously reproduce stuff by hand with little oversight, it's a problem when machines do it at industrial rates.

I see, your suggestion is to knowingly give a group of (informed, consenting) people covid in a controlled setting, with half having received a trial vaccine.

"Hard lockdowns" weren't always necessary.
Taiwan and South Korea (and perhaps a few other countries) achieved zero covid without lockdowns.
