Does this mean you are not worried by Trump efforts to “nationalize” the election by, say, having ICE swoop in and take away voting data or some such? In my rural county (in Minnesota) we all vote by mail. It would be so easy to confiscate those ballots unless our police are ready to prevent that.

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

When Martin Luther King Jr. organized the children’s march, where police attacked kids with dogs and water cannons, it moved the national polls a few percent, but it became the tipping point in the civil rights struggle. The Battle for Minneapolis and the deaths of Good and Pretti will be the same.

OK, but can you differentiate this: The people of Minneapolis won a great victory with their brilliant application of non-violent resistance. Trump came to overwhelm, to humiliate. He did neither. The people’s tactics and power now will be used everywhere. However he responds, Trump lost.

Guys maybe the number one obstacle to organizing here in Minneapolis is the unfounded fear that if you get involved, DHS will put you on a list and assassinate you. It leads people to avoid organizing or act in ways that are completely detrimental to organizing. Please please do not spread that fear

I’ve read a bunch of stuff but one of the most clear headed pieces was the MN StarTrib sports column by Jim Souhan and the part that sticks with me is just a half sentence in the middle alluding to the obligation of pro sports team owners to the safety of their workers (think arena cleaning staff).

Except the public won’t lose interest. The Siege of Minneapolis has failed. People feel empowered. If the ICE and CBP ramp back up, The People will be ready.
