I suspect that the only thing preventing Vance from being even lower is that, traditionally, most people ignore the VP. When Trump dies, I expect Vance's numbers to drop quickly.

The importance of public health has almost always been under-appreciated in the US, which makes it vulnerable to both budget cuts and this kind of gross manipulation.

Even not counting the endless list of "Republican accusations are confessions", Trump has confessed (bragged) about things.

Hell, he bragged about his history of sexual assaults before his *first* win.

Usually, a large part of that is bringing it up to ADA compliance and modern building codes.

Sometimes people will grumble about that ... but usually not loudly.

Especially not the ADA part. Nobody grumbles loudly about that more than once.

Yup. This occasionally comes up in our small town, especially with respect to aging town buildings.

"The town should fixed that up and use it for ... something."

Town officials, after checking with professionals: "Well, if you can find us $X million dollars, that'd be great."

I think articles like this have become an Olympic tradition with the news media.

The *companies* aren't making a profit from it. The people at the top are, or will, even if/when it falls over. That's how they often work. They cover both sides of any gamble, as much as possible using other people's money.

Somebody, probably: "He's just doing a bit. He doesn't real-"

Me, interrupting: "I don't fucking care."

It's making *them* money. For now. And they'll almost certainly be less harmed by their bubble popping than the rest of us.
