One of a growing list of reasons I’m still mad they transferred the USCG out of DoD.

Mine have a camera, but it comes covered by default and its only use is to anchor the screen in place if you want to use the 3DoF feature.

I really like my Viture XR glasses. They’re not practical to wear as regular sunglasses, but they’re very useful for using your electronics in public places without anyone seeing your screen.

Also very useful for those of us whose near vision is going.

3. School isn’t supposed to be day care, but let’s not pretend that kids being at school all day doesn’t save two-income families significant money on daycare.

The nine-month school model was designed to accommodate agrarian families. But this isn’t an agrarian country anymore.

We want to get

1. Kids typically regress a quarter to a full grade over summer breaks. No break means that instead of spending a quarter of the year relearning things, kids keep building knowledge.
2. Title I kids get subsidized lunches/breakfasts year round instead of just during the school year.

It really amazes me that year-round school doesn’t get any traction anywhere. Note: Teachers should get paid more for year-round. But man it would be so so good for the economy in general and educational outcomes.
