But the truth is this: resistance is a shared responsibility. We can't wait for official Democratic leadership to do it. We can't wait for local liberal margarita enthusiasts (ahem) to do it. No one is coming to save us. This fight is everybody's fight.

Nobody's doing anything! we say, so this one's on you. Plan a protest. Organize a phonebank. Do something, and we'll publicize it! We'll join you.

And sometimes when we say that we get a "fuck you" back. Or a "this is why Democrats are failing in Alabama. You suck."

We get messages on a lot of platforms asking "what's being done about [Latest MAGA Horror]?" And usually the answer to that is "something!" and we're able pass on contact details and scheduled events. But sometimes we don't know. And sometimes we ask around and we still don't know.

This is such a nightmare and, like all our best national nightmares, one that impacts disproportionately on our most vulnerable neighbors
