Alaska featured in PBS ‘Reading Road Trip’ online book series Wednesday The episode will debut at 4 p.m. AKST on YouTube, Facebook and PBS platforms.

Alaska will be featured in an edition of the PBS series “A Reading Road Trip” this week. The episode will cover a number of aspects of the state’s literary history, including Alaska Native storytelling.

The Chukchi Sea is approaching ice-over, though substantial areas of now disconnected open water remain. With colder weather this week, ice will grow. Ice is also growing out from the coast in the Bering Sea, and ice extent is near the 1991-2020 median for the end of November. #akwx #Arctic #seaIce

Another dataset confirms that last month was the warmest October on record in the #Arctic. The previous record was 2024. This is already a month with a very large increasing temperature trend (i.e., Arctic amplification). Not good.
