I stopped giving a business my money when I noticed them doing the same thing. Morons.
B&H "closes" regularly but they leave their website up and tell you when they will resume shipping. That's how you do it.
We won #Assembly 2025 oldskool demo compΠΎ. Viva #demoscene and thanks to all participants for your amazing entries! Greetings to Mindlapse and Desire, BRZ, Rustbloom, Extream, Conspiracy and everyone at the party!

I spent painstaking months on this, and without a doubt this is one of the proudest I've been of everything I've ever worked on.
SR is a demo without which a lot of us wouldn't be doing what we're doing, so to make it run natively on my machine was very emotional.

RIP Tom Lehrer. I was just thinking about him the other day, singing one of his songs, and today I learn that he passed away yesterday at age 97. A brilliant mind and a brilliant humorist.
He donated his entire catalog to the public domain, which everyone should own: tomlehrersongs.com

I make no claims against any particular track or the tracks on this site, but every upload in the last 8 months from Kevin has been generated by Suno. (Everything after Outback Call):

Devastated to learn that the vintage computing community recently lost Chuck Guzis. Chuck was a computing pioneer for decades, and a giant in the vintage computing hobby. Ever use SIMCGA? That was also Chuck.

Another LGR travel vlog! This time visiting SEGE 2025
youtu.be/QDmGzxKnzlM
Southeast Game Exchange has always been fun, but it has grown exponentially in recent years and is now one of the largest shows of its type in the area. So let's wander the event, visit a waterfall, a flea market, and more!
I've been bedridden for the last 7 months, unable to work, and now my roommate who was covering rent is having tax issues. I need to raise a few thousand dollars to cover rent and bills for this month, so If you could send a couple dollars, it'd really help. Thanks so much.

Social media isn't a broadcast platform; it's an interaction platform.
I consider those "adventure games with FMV". Are people referring to those as "FMV games"? That doesn't seem right, as those have non-FMV puzzle/interface elements.
I've always understood FMV games to be games for which FMV is the *only* visual element: Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Mad Dog McCree, etc.
*SPOILERS* I predicted major developments before they happened (krypto interactions, getting out of jail, why selfies, kal-el clone, guy gardner ring manifestations, Lex true motivation, etc.) It felt way too lowest common denominator. Nothing went into any serious depth. Very odd experience.
21.07.2025 02:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Saw Superman yesterday. There was nothing wrong with the film; everybody did everything correctly (acting, writing, directing, visual effects, sound design, music). But for some reason, I just wasn't *entertained*.

My friend Roberta lost the fight today. She had multiple cardiac arrests and had been in a coma for over 2 weeks. She gave so much to the adventure game community and never expected anything in return. We told her she was the glue that kept us all together, and even though she's gone, she still is.

I'm a TRON fan who won't be seeing it. The concept shows a lack of understanding of what made the first films (and TRON 2.0) compelling: Discovery of a new world, and a fish-out-of-water story. Bringing light cycles, recognizers, etc. into the real world makes it an overdone alien invasion movie.
17.07.2025 21:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is where the games industry is at right now where even human HR's can't even do their own jobs properly. This takes the cake. (seen on LinkedIn) #redundancies #gamejobs #gamesindustry #indiegamedev

17.07.2025 02:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You may want to reconsider, as the industry was pronouncing it "gooey" before you existed. "Gee you eye" is also fine, but I wouldn't correct people pronouncing it "gooey".
I grew up with the original form "what you see is what you get" but I don't correct people who say WYSIWYG as "whizzy-wig"
Its cool and all that there's a new Commodore 64 but I was more into the PC.
I'd like to release an FPGA based 5150 in a clear case, so I'm raising money to buy IBM

Linux lacks the video digital rights management Prime (and other streaming services) uses. To work around it, try installing the Windows version of Chrome using Wine, which seems to work in some cases.

The original Dazzle device is from the brief point in time where it actually made sense to put an MPEG-1 encoder inside a parallel port dongle. And it's surprisingly capable for what it is!
Rest in peace, PatmanQC. :(

Whoever designed that specific 28 years later poster, and whoever approved it, should be fired. Can't talk about why until you've seen the movie.
"We had meetings with the publisher the day before this happened, there was no mention of it."
Really fucked up of this publisher to pull the rug on them so suddenly, absolutely sickening.
