the much bigger issue is that subscribing to mute or block lists (mod lists in general) gives a lot of power to the list creator to your view of the app (labelers too, in fact. Even the cosmetic ones!). I remember somone else saying sth similar but there should be some way to override moderation...

most blocklists should be mutelists imo. For moderation hiding accounts/content from your own view is good enough, but blocking implies a step further - that some people should not be able to see or interact with you, which is also useful (?) but maybe people don't realize the implications

is it just me or am I the only one who always look at the reply thread first before I do the replying? To me it feels weird to think that there are people who, uh, rawdogs their replies to strangers on the internet, to put it lightly 😶
