I’m about to buy a ticket to come along this year (for the first time), but will be on my own. I am hoping that’s not uncommon, and it will be easy to find people to socialise with over supper etc. who else is going? #TheArchers

I think it’s family choice. I grew up not being taught to use ‘aunty/uncle’, just first names, therefore its didn’t occur to me to use the terms with my kids. Although my Asian nephew calls me aunty, but culturally for him, that seems to be anyone in the generation above.

Maybe their outrage is right, rather than equalling the playing field by charging farms IHT, maybe we should be protesting to be free from it too! The Archers seems so far removed from the reality of the young people I know, who’ve worked hard, been to uni, have student loans, a tough ride into a job, and high rent while they save. It can’t be this easy for young farmers surely? They just get handed homes, land and livelihoods? #TheArchers

I think that’s why I don’t like her. She’s not part of the ‘sisterhood’ at all. So melodramatic and singularly team Pip. The sisterhood steps up for friends, supports each other, recognises that together we are greater than the sun of our parts. She’s just Me, Me, Rosie, Me, Rosie, Me etc

It sounds like you don’t find her annoying. Are you neutral of do you see redeeming features?
I find her annoying bc she can be extraordinarily self absorbed and doesn’t seem to consider the views or impact on anyone/thing else.

I was talking about this just yesterday with my kids, now in their 20s. They knew my phone number by the time they were 3, we’d practice everyday, and they remembered that I drilled them if they ever thought they’d lost me to stand ‘still like a statue’ until I came and found them. 🥰
