Can't wait to get back to revolution through posting.
24.02.2026 19:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 6 π 0First retirement post Iβve seen from a chapter. DSA seriously needs to to be active in social security activism and Medicare for All activism (instead of shelving it).
18.02.2026 12:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I do think weβd have to tie some income to actually working, just untie it from seeking profit above all. Stuff has to get done to have a good society.
06.02.2026 12:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I figure decent minimum wages are much better than low or no minimum wages, but yes, untying your income from your employer profits is probably better. Same for all universal programs. We shouldnβt have βminimumβ healthcare, for instance, just what you need, same as everyone.
06.02.2026 12:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So you want no ICE but you aren't quoting Marx yet?
06.02.2026 04:49 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Signal is a useful tool, current Signal large group culture is not.
31.01.2026 11:30 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I know people fear hiring βbureaucrats.β But we donβt need bureaucrats, we need professional organizers and solid administrative support, dedicated to member and chapter development. We need rank and file DSA staff, to support rank and file DSA volunteers.
30.01.2026 18:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Our chapter, since Trump was elected has gone from a little over 100, to 222 as of today. Fortunately we have the right combination of seasoned organizers combined with new young energetic leaders. It potentially could be a real mess.
30.01.2026 18:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We are at 98,000 dues current members and will hit 100,000 soon, by far our most ever, after we stopped counting 1-year lapsed members in the total. If we counted those now, weβd likely be at 120,000 or so already.
30.01.2026 18:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We need another staff person for membership management. Our current approach, mailing the membership staff person to change something, then getting the really long auto-reply, is not suitable for our needs. But it takes real work to make it better.
30.01.2026 18:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We need more regional organizers. Ours are stretched absurdly thin for an organization our size. Ideally we would have enough organizers for quarterly in-person chapter trainings.
30.01.2026 18:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0We need at least one staff person working full time on chapter tech, with the NTC (maybe there is one). And communicating to chapter leadership about the proper ways to use them.
30.01.2026 18:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We need staff (not volunteers, too unreliable) making sure all events (working groups, trainings, poli-ed, whatever) are on the calendar and communicated to comms so that members know about them, and know where to find out about them.
30.01.2026 18:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's time for DSA to staff up.
I know we have a couple openings now, I think for a chapter development person and a comms person, and thatβs great. However, we need more. (thread):
Sounds like you think social media DSA = actual DSA. Itβs a common confusion. Best way to fix it, go to a meeting. The vast majority of our members are not even posting on these websites. They are, however, organizing in their communities. Give it a shot!
23.01.2026 11:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fetterman actually screened for endorsement with a DSA chapter back when he was running, but he didnβt get it.
02.12.2025 00:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes it is. Even Marx called himself a democratic communist at times. Doesnβt mean he wasnβt a communist.
29.11.2025 18:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Ok, I need three people to join so I get the cool DSA t-shirt. act.dsausa.org/s/3298.TCcWt5
25.11.2025 20:12 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0It doesn't say where this race is.
23.11.2025 22:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, this is common, to assume that just because we work within capitalism now, we are ok with at least some capitalism. Most of us would like to have a society with capitalism absolutely illegal, just like slavery is illegal. Thatβs a democratic choice.
14.11.2025 19:44 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Join us this Saturday!
22.08.2025 17:37 β π 14 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0Thatβs true, but the problem is that she followed her confusing vote up with a statement that said she always supports funding for defensive weapons like the Iron Dome. So she supports the defense of a (genocidal, her word) country, with no defense of Gaza.
19.07.2025 23:53 β π 23 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I skim completed it, mostly reading the insufficient summaries and making a best guess. For the first couple pages I was re-reading whole resolutions and even asking forum questions, but that was bog slow.
19.07.2025 11:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If DSA had existed in the Soviet Union its members would have been imprisoned or exiled or killed.
13.07.2025 16:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lol, depends on the chapter. Usually roberts rules, committee reports, maybe a resolution, some political education, some snacks.
10.07.2025 15:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm impressed with all of the DSA member politicians you manage to dig up. Many seem to be unendorsed, is that right? More like quiet members.
07.07.2025 19:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Welcome, and you joined, you did not subscribe : ) I mean, we don't even have a hard copy publication any more. But we have meetings, so go to those!
07.07.2025 19:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Moving season. We started a βcomrades helping comradesβ section in our newsletter and the first two requests were for moving help. People did too!
