Is that not the case in every other country with a wealth tax?

A friend of mine recently inherited a modest sum of money - ~$100k CAD - from a distant relative.

It wasn’t totally life changing, but it’s bizarre they didn’t have to declare it on income tax or anything. They did nothing to earn it.

They wouldn’t have been hard done by if 5% or 10% was taxed.

Again, crushing it with the music.

His responses are like β€œhow dare you question me, little peon.

It’s just so unbecoming and speaks directly to whatever I understood about his politics. Maybe I wasn’t smart enough to REALLY understand Chomsky.

You know, it isn’t just that Chomsky had connections with Epstein, for all I know that crusty old man didn’t engage in anything nefarious, but it’s the arrogance and dismissiveness he’s displayed to anyone questioning him.

Reasonable questions, too. β€œHey why were you hanging out with Epstein?”

Not just beat. Crush. How do you make them cry like little babies because they lost so bad?

Open AI is for sure going to be the sacrificial lamb in the coming collapse. Legacy players will try and contain the disaster as much as possible, and lay blame on their feet.

Trump probably enjoyed watching a woman getting assaulted, knowing him.

I knew I was right to call them fascist all this time. Unfortunately, I’m usually right.

Americans set the rules of their global hegemony, and benefited greatly.

Over the proceeding decades they have mismanaged their own country, and the fabric of their political system and society is fraying.

Now they’re blaming everyone else for the mismanagement of their imperial core. Get fucked.

Someone needs to create a comprehensive Trump Crime Wiki

I would happy get turned to mist by the overwhelming force of the American military while opposing invasion. Even a pointless death where I affect no measurable outcome is satisfactory if I’m standing in opposition to this sundowning psychopath.

This is such a bizarre concept to me. Sorry to be obtuse but like where are the neighbours actually ending up? What happens to their homes and belongings?

What sort of insane country has America become?

So, will he actually β€œchair” meetings? Like sit through and facilitate meetings?

It would be funny to watch him try.

That situation was unfortunate, but here I lay most blame on the US. We were fulfilling the request of our most trusted ally, and they hung us out to dry on the consequences.

I was there, Stephen. I was there nearly two decades ago when the public consultations happened for the Broadway line.

It should have proceeded that day, but selfishness and small mindedness was allowed to endure.

If our federal government decides to give a ton of new handouts to build a pipeline, I will start rooting for global warming and total civilizational collapse. Christ.

The year of technoligarchy In 2025, Trump brought tech executives into power to dismantle regulators and write their own rules. But the instabilities they’re creating may be their downfall.

β€œWAGMI” β€” we're all gonna make it β€” was crypto's 2021 rallying cry. But those with wealth and power knew it was a lie, and that β€œall” just meant them. My latest traces the last five years from hype to technoligarchy β€” and why they're not all gonna make it either.

We are all drowning in a sea of data and information every day. Notifications, news, pings, politics from around the world. Distilling it all into understanding is a huge amount of effort.

AI tools are useful to help reduce our cognitive load on researching complex topics.

Maybe you should do a Nardwuar style interview of Nardwuar where you dig up uncomfortable and secret lore on him.

Bit of a suspicious tweet coming from a gambling company - β€œhey don’t be fiscally responsible! Take risk and have fun instead!”

We need to put more money into climate change adaptation and resilience. Whatever we did was, seemingly, a half measure.

Our future is failing infrastructure and systems that we complacently rely on.

I’m not against gambling in principle, but the expansion of gambling into every facet of our lives is corrosive.

We are being shown that working hard does not get you ahead, simultaneously glorifying wealth, and giving people easy access to get rich quick scams.

This shit is so completely broken
