I have so many photo books it now takes something a bit special for me to buy another. But my handmade copy of Sea by @andrewatkinson.bsky.social turned up this week. Absolutely stunning work - both the photographs and the handmade itself. Huge thanks Andrew.

Bobbed up to the Snake Summit to try to catch you as you passed . Didnโ€™t hang around. Just * Horrendous* conditions !!! Lots of snow, strong vicious icy wind and horizontal sleet. Youโ€™re all completely mad. If you make it to Torside itโ€™s heroic, yet alone Kirk Yetholm !

Ripples and rivulets in an inland estuary in south-east Iceland. The colours are muted pale brown and greys.

These are some of the most beautiful patterns in nature that I think I've ever seen!

Just heard Kieran Metcalfe passed away, at a ridiculously young age. Difficult to process. Fabulous photographer, wonderful man. Thoughts with his family.

Fen Diagram

A cartoon for the mathematically-minded lovers of flatlands, a particular Venn diagram in itself.

Some grey eroded smooth basalt column tops on a beach, with neat lines of pebbles squeezed into the gaps between them (by the force of waves during high tides). The pebbles are wedged in tightly, but each time I visit some of the pebbles are different - they get swapped out.

Each time I come to this area I'm compelled to visit this particular spot. The pebbles in the gaps between the eroded basalt columns are just so incredible to me - so neat! The access road is closed so it involved a longer walk to get there, but worth the effort :)
